FEASTS TO REMEMBER
August 15: Assumption of Mary. An important teaching of the Church, that Mary, shortly after her death, was taken to heaven by Jesus. Although there is no biblical proof of this, it is an obvious conclusion that Jesus would honor Mary in this way. (The celebration of this feast is transferred to Sunday, August 19th.)
August 16: Stephen of Hungary. Perhaps the highest praise given to a king is that he loved his people. The Church honors King Stephen as just, peaceful & pious, working for the welfare of his Church and his people. As he loved,so was he loved by his people.

Holy Redeemer priests, brothers & parishioners join in prayer for a special blessing from God on Her Majesty, the Queen. May she enjoy a long and happy life as a fitting reward for her faithful love and care for her subjects! Our 11 am. Mass today is offered for her.
August 12th, the birth date of Her Majesty the Queen, is recognized as Mother’s Day in Thailand. We extend best wishes to all mothers in our parish and offer the 12:30 Mass today for their intentions.
FIRST TO RELOCATE: The Religious Articles Store is now located on the ground floor of the Pastoral Center & is open for business. Many beautiful items for sale at good prices.
PHILIPPINE RELIEF PROJECT
When Thailand was flooded last year people everywhere sent aid. We are responding to the needs of others by sponsoring a collection for the Filipino people who are now in need of our help. Envelopes are available now. Please offer your contribution next Sunday.
CCD PROGRAM: CCD Mass and classes will begin on Sunday, Sept.2. Time: 8:30 Venue: Thai School Hall. Please pick up the registration form on the front porch of the church or in the rectory office. Thank you.
SECOND SUNDAY = OUTREACH PROGRAM DAY
“Charity begins at home,” and for a determined group of parishioner, this is meant to be a special day to practice charity for the poor of our area. Lunch is served each second Sunday of the month. A full meal is guaranteed through the charity of these hard working members and the generosity of parishioners who wish to share in their good work.
LOOKING AHEAD: Third Sunday belongs to the AIC organization. A familiar group of faithful parishioners, long serving Holy Redeemer Church, they have have helped the poor and needy throughout the country. They do this with your help.
